Group Catering, It’s Kind Of Our Thing

OVER 1 MILLION FED in 20+ years is not chest thumping or braggadocios fodder just for the blog (ok, maybe a smidge).

Having operated in large event management for two decades prior to covid I had the privilege of organizing trade shows, conferences, festivals, and other gatherings of hungry attendees all over the globe. I worked side by side with renowned US and international restaurant/catering teams to feed groups from 20 to 20,000 plus people at a time without even breaking a sweat, a plate, or wind. Fun side story I directed a heavy duty investment banking conference in Orlando for an executive steering committee that became very high maintenance (respectfully a pain in the a*s) if you can relate to that kind of special client.

When it came down to the life changing decision of selecting the lunch salad garnish I was giddy to see fresh tropical fruit OR well aged blue cheese options on the menu. Knowing hundreds of preset salads generously topped with ripe blue cheese in a steaming hot Florida ballroom would manifest into a glorious eye watering cloud of funk lingering for the rest of the day’s speaking sessions…the deed was done.

Those were the sublime pre-pandemic days for this humble blogger, then we literally couldn’t put folks in the same room together for 24 months but that’s another story for another post check back soon! Fast forward to 2026 LunchThief is better, cheaper, faster, and unforgivingly taking over the workday lunch catering space…sandwich by sandwich, burrito by burrito, protein bowl by protein bowl. -Paul
